Eleven American Students from Illinois State University majoring in criminal justice and political science, two faculty members, and 58 Murom students participated in the project. The students discussed the issues and problems of Russian and American societies: substance abuse, elections, unemployment, and education. American students learned about Russian traditions while they stayed with their Murom host families. English language, used as the means of intercultural communication, was accompanied by the universal language of friendship, joy, and smiles.
