24-25 April 2009

American Home teachers (Alex Dvorkin, Lija Mikhaylova, Andrew Mrotek, and Austin Wallace), 2 Institute language instructors, and 34 Murom students studying English participated in the project. The subject was “Cross-Cultural Communication: Russia and the USA”.

The students’ presentations considered the differences and similarities in values, communalism-individualism, friendship, women’s status, legal systems, and category of time in both cultures.

Preliminary instructions for the American jury, who choose the best speakers

Future social worker, Timofey Ryabokon, gives his presentation on communication differences.

The jury makes the notes about each speaker’s presentation.

The weather was fine for the tour around Murom.

The Americans will never forget the name of our town!
